Rules for Poetry   

 

 

 

Poetry is a means of expressing your emotions.

 

Primary (KG-Yr 6):

 

- Poem must have 8 lines.

- Poem can be a rhyming one or blank verse.

- Focus of your poem is ‘Living in Christ’.

 

High School (Yr 7- Yr 12):

 

- Poem must have 16 lines.

- Poem must have a simile/metaphor.

- Poem can be a rhyming one or blank verse.

- Focus of your poem is ‘Living in Christ’.

 

 

Adults

- Poem must not be less than 8 lines and not more than 16 lines.

- Poem must have a simile/metaphor.

- Poem can be a rhyming one or blank verse.

- Focus of your poem is ‘Living in Christ’.
